Business Manager's Report

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Californians now know the choice for California’s next Governor comes down to Meg Whitman or Jerry Brown. Now it’s up to us to make clear that the choice isn’t just between two people or two styles of leadership, but about the kind of California we want in the decades to come.

We’ve had enough of the anti-labor philosophy that Meg Whitman wants to bring to the Governor’s office. We’ve seen what happens when this frame of mind controls our mortgages, our retirement savings, and our economy. We can’t let Meg Whitman get her grip on our schools, our healthcare, and our jobs.

Everywhere Whitman’s gone throughout her career two things happened: workers lost jobs and she got richer. We know all too well just how wrong she is. When the economy collapsed, Whitman and her corporate friends made off with millions. We paid the price with job loss, home foreclosures and other hardships.

But there is a better way: Jerry Brown represents the Main Street values of good jobs, quality schools and public services and a stronger California. In his time as Governor from 1975-1983, he created nearly 2 million jobs. He’s spent a lifetime fighting for us at all levels of government. That’s the kind of proven leadership we need to emerge from this recession.

Defeating the ever-present anti-labor agenda will take more than money; it will require an army of passionate volunteers, activists and YOU. YOU hold the key to this election. Together, we need to carry out a massive grassroots campaign to expose the truth.

Fraternally,

Dan Broadwater

Come and see old friends and their families, enjoy a fun raffle, face painting for the kids!!

We need volunteers to help paint the kids! We are in desperate need of cooks and trucks to haul food, drinks, and fun to Lake Solano in the early morning.

The usual cooks and truck drivers are working at Valero and will have to work that day. So please If you can help out in any way, call Dean Lloyd at 337-0347

UNION BUILT MEANS BETTER BUILT

You want a “ no-worry” electrical system installed in your home safe, reliable and guaranteed.  Then you need an electrical system installed by a union electrical contractor.  That’s right– UNION!  A competent union electrical contractor who employs qualified IBEW union electricians.

Each IBEW journeyman learns the trade through a 3 to 5 year Apprenticeship program.  This extensive training combines on–the-job practical experience with classroom theory and testing.  And the training doesn’t stop there.  Continuing education constantly up-dates the union electrician’s skills through programs sponsored by the IBEW and NECA.
