Jon joined IBEW Local Union 180 in 2004. Jon, Jennifer, Jessica and Jameson were a fun and loving family of four until their lives were devastated when Jon suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on the evening of Thursday, May 5th. Jessie joined IBEW Local Union 180 in 1995. He will always be remembered for his apprenticeship interview when he said, "Look, this is my third interview and I'm going to keep coming back until you take me so why put it off?" Jessie past away due to a long illness. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Services will be Friday, March 6th, 10:30 a.m. at Valley Church, 5063 Maple Road.
Barbara A. (Mikulic) Guldenbrein (1945 - 2015)
Barbara is IBEW Local Union 180 Member Larry Guldenbrein's bride of 51 years. Barbara and Larry were a part of the foster parent program, mentoring 34 teenage girls over a 14 year period. Barbara co-chaired the Vallejo-Benicia Chapter of Ducks Unlimited for 24 years, making many lifelong friends in the process.

John William "Bill" Coleman
While working for the San Joaquin Valley NECA Chapter from 1961 through 2008, Bill truly enjoyed the relationships he had with his fellow Chapter Managers, Assistant Managers and Staff, NECA representatives, and everyone from the IBEW. Bill viewed all of us in a positive light. Bill's oldest son, Kevin Coleman, is a valued member of the Local Union's team.
Bill is a WWII Veteran, having served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1941 through 1945. He received 6 bronze stars for campaigns in Europe, Normandy, South France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe, as well as five overseas service bars. Please read more, and see the services, here.
William ‘Bill’ Provan Jr.
Bill passed away at his home in Stockton, California, on Friday, July 25, 2014, of complications from diabetes. He was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, on July 23, 1957. Bill was a journeyman electrician for more than 20 years and previously worked manufacturing concrete pipe. Prior to moving to Stockton, he had worked and lived in Napa and in Vacaville.
Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Oak St., in Lodi. A celebration of life will follow at Scooter’s California Grill, 121 W. Elm Street, Lodi. Burial will be private.

Marvan R. Voshall

Marvan R. Voshall, 90 of Vacaville, died July 20. Marvan was born to Charles and Clara (Dayton) Voshall in Adams Co., N. Dakota, Aug. 13, 1923. The eldest of six sons, raised in Lemon, S. Dakota. Marvan, loving husband of Millie Voshall passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, with his wife and son by his side.
Marvan was a Navy pilot in WWII. He received numerous awards in education throughout his life. By trade, Marvan worked as an Electrician. He had so much spunk and energy it earned him the nickname, "Sparkey" by his co-workers. - Marvan Joined IBEW Local 180 in 1950 and retireed in 1983. Read more.

Jim was born in Vallejo to Leonard and Bonita Lamb. He was a retired electrician belonging to the I.B.E.W. Local #180 where he recently earned his 45 year pin. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an active member of St. Mary's. He and his wife lived on "Lollipop Lane" where they were known for their holiday decorations; they had the red foil tree in front where they collected donations for the poor. Jim joined IBEW Local Union 180 on 1/10/1961. He was born in Pittsburgh and came to California when he was 4 years old. Jim liked to travel, camp and be outdoors. He was a generous person and loved his children, grandchildren, family, and many friends throughout the United States. He was known to many as “The Candy Man”. Read more here.

Tom departed from this life to a happier place after a long illness. He was born in Vallejo, and graduated from Vallejo High School in 1955. Tom was a member of the Electrical Union Local 180. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing racquetball and meeting his friend for coffee. Through his long illness, he always had a smile on his face while keeping his sense of humor.
Tom’s request, there will be no public memorial service. His family wishes to thank the Queen of the Valley, 2 North for all the care they gave him. He is survived by Lou, his wife of 54 yrs, sons Shawn(Tina), Shane(Lisa ) and Scott. Born in Akron, Ohio, he moved to St Petersburg as a young boy and attended local schools. After a stint in the Army ASA he joined the IBEW and worked as an electrician for 38 yrs. There will be a memorial service on Sat. Feb 16 at 11:00am on the Gulfport fishing pier. Merle W. Moody

Merle joined IBEW Local Union 180 in April of 1956 and worked as Basalt Rock in Napa. He then worked at nuclear power plants in California, Wyoming and Pennsylvania. He worked for 15 years at Rhodes Jamison in Pleasanton, California and then retired from Zeco Electric.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Creekside Community Church in Napa, 1050 Hagen Road, Napa CA 94558, A celebration of Merle’s life will follow the service at the Napa Valley Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 1040 Orchard Avenue.

Ken was born on Feb. 25, 1918 and joined IBEW Local Union on June 5, 1953. Ken retired on Jan. 1, 1981, served the Local as President and was our Retirees’ club President. Ken suffered a massive heart attack at Yellowstone Park on March 1st. Services are scheduled for March 23 at 11 A.M. with a luncheon to follow. Larry Don “Woody” Pierson

Larry Don “Woody” Pierson, 62, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vacaville. Woody was born Jan. 14, 1949, in Russellville, Ark., to Clyde and Ruby Pierson. He moved to Solano County in 1976 and was united in marriage to Liv Thompson in Fairfield on April 9, 1978.
Woody worked as an electrician for his brother who owned Golden West Electric in Suisun at the time. He then worked as a union electrician for 25 years before retirement from Local Union 180. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
He is survived by his wife Liv Pierson; son, Casey Pierson; and stepdaughter, Andrea Smith, all from Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a son.

Gary was born on Dec. 11, 1942, to Carl and Alice Greco. He and Pam married 42 years ago and enjoyed retirement traveling. Many brothers and sisters remember Gary while working for Guarantee Electric.

David died March 30, 2011, in a car accident in Gasquet. David was born Sept. 23, 1966, in Winnepeg, Canada, to David and Betty McKenzie. He spent his youth in Pacifica and Vacaville, Calif., playing soccer and music and enjoying his friends.
Later he learned the electrical trade and became a very skilled electrician. He was a loyal member of the IBEW. He moved to Gasquet, a place he came to love very much. There he was able to indulge his love for the outdoors. He became a loved member of the community and a volunteer firefighter. As a firefighter he provided valuable service to the community. He leaves behind a loving family and friends who cared deeply about him.
Harold Thornton Herrmann

Harold was born in San Diego, CA, and was a Vallejo resident for most of his life, graduating from Vallejo High School with the class of 1935.
Harold started work as a journeyman electrician in June of 1929. Harold wired many homes and businesses in Vallejo and throughout California. He ended his electrical career at Mare Island, retiring in 1983. He held membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for over 75 years.
Lawrence "Larry" Polk

Lawrence Stanley Polk, 88, of Napa, died Friday, March 19, at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Larry was born May 9, 1921, to Edgar Knox and Margaine Polk in Oakvale, Miss. Upon graduation, he hitchhiked to Napa to marry his childhood sweetheart, Dorothy. After one year of marriage, he joined the Navy CB’s and was involved with the building of airstrips on Guam. Returning to Napa after World War II, Larry became an electrician working 42 years and retiring from Napa Electric in 1982.

Chester Guillory, 63, passed away early morning after a long battle with emphysema. Chester transferred his ticket from Local 995 to Local 180 in 1990.

Norman Long, 81, passed away in his sleep on October 29, 2009. He was born in Collins, Iowa on August 1, 1928, to Francis and Ethelynd Long. He grew up in St. Helena and graduated from St. Helena High School in 1946.
He married Winnie Bartow on July 6, 1956. They lived in Napa, and together they raised 5 children, Norma Jane, Alan, Sheri, Greg, and Mark. Norman worked as an electrician for 42 years, and was a member of local IBEW 180. He retired in 1990 .
Norman’s hobbies included gardening, especially growing orchids, building model trains, flying, photography, and geneology. When he was indoors, he stayed busy on his computer. His old fashioned work ethic, caring nature and sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends. He was affectionately known as “Stormin’ Norman.”
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Winnie Long, daughter, Norma Jane (Jimmy) Seward, Odessa, Texas, sons, Alan Long, Odessa, Greg (Patti) Long, Napa, Mark (Lisa) Long, Napa, and daughter, Sheri Long, Napa; grandchildren, Clint (Cindy), Mindy

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Brother Ken McCoy; a long time member of IBEW Local 180. His services are Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Church in Fairfield. May God rest his soul, Dan Broadwater.
From "The Reporter", Kenneth Earl "Coy" McCoy passed away Sat., Aug. 1, at his home in Fairfield after a brief illness. Coy was born in Belspring, Va., to Homer and Evelyn McCoy.
After graduating high school he entered the Air Force. While stationed at Travis Air Force Base, he met his wife of 52 years, Betty Jo Parks.
After leaving the service he became an electrician, retiring from IBEW180 in 1999 after more than 40 years. Coy was a member of the Moose Lodge and Classic Unique Car Club. He enjoyed working on old cars, trying his luck at Cache Creek, but most of all following his children's and grandchildren's sports activities. Coy will be remembered as a great family man and was loved by all who knew him.
János “Öcsi” Székely Jr., 41, lost a valiant battle against cancer on July 17, 2009. He was born in Transylvania/Romania on Aug. 3, 1967, to János and Julianna Székely Sr. János came to the United States in 1985 and moved to Napa in 1988. János joined IBEW LU 180 in July 1998 and was employed by Mike Brown Electric; who supported János during his battle against his cancer. The full obituary is in the Napa Valley Register

Ken retired at the rank of MSG from the US Army and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Ken joined IBEW local 543 in 1969 then transferred his ticket to Local 180 in 1976. He married Maria in 1978 and retired in 1988 to Florida.

Memorial Services and Memorial Fund announced
Fairfield, CA - Today the Family of City Councilman Matt Garcia said their final goodbyes to him and Matt has been turned over to the organ donor teams to honor the wishes of Matt to give life even in his death.
In Celebration of the life a young dynamic man who was friend to the young as well as the old, the poor as well as the rich, the weak as well as the strong, the family of City Councilman Matt Garcia has planned a series of opportunities for those wishing to pay their regards to the fallen Councilman.
A Prayer Service has been planned at Councilman Garcia's home church, Parkway Community Church, located at 2397 Heath Drive in Fairfield for Thursday September 4th at 7:00 PM.
A community viewing time has been scheduled for Monday September 8th between 500 PM - 9:00 PM at Liberty Christian Center, located at 2641 N Texas St in Fairfield.
And finally a "Keep the Dream Alive" Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Councilman Garcia's High School, Armijo High School, located at 824 Washington Street in Fairfield on Tuesday September 9th at 4:00 PM.
Matt's story has gained national attention and has young people all over the country wanting to make changes in their communities.
Family Spokesman, Ron Marlette has asked the community that the family continue to be allowed to mourn during this time but has announced that a Memorial Fund has been established at First Bank in Fairfield, located at 2407 Waterman Blvd. Donations can be made out the "Matt Garcia Memorial Fund", the funds will used to help with the final arrangements as well as begin the Matt Garcia, Keep the Dream Alive Foundation which would continue to support all of the programs and dreams that were near and dear to the Councilman.

Tom was initiated into IBEW Local 180 on April 5, 1958 and retired on June 1, 1998. Tom was born at Parks Victory Hospital in Napa, attended local schools and graduated from Napa High School in 1955 then married Betty on Aug. 4, 1957. Tom also served in the Navy Reserve. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m., at the Local Union Hall.
Delmar “Bud” Hefferon

Bud was initiated into IBEW Local 50 May 14th, 1941 and transferred his membership to Local 180 Jan. 9th 1953. Bud retired November 1978 and resided in Southern California until his passing.

Hurles Edward “Bud” Mackley, 81,

Bud served during World War II in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the Philippines. He lived in the Napa Valley for more than 50 years and was a 55-year Local 180 member.

Luis Perez, 27
Local 180 Member since 2005, died from fatal gunshots just outside of his home in San Pablo. Alice was born 1-1-1914 and in 1936 joined Ken Breckenridge for 72.5 years of marriage. Ken is a 55-year member of Local 180 and is the current president of the retirees club and Alice served as the recording secretary of the retirees club.
